Drawing on Black Paint! +daily sketch

Black Paint drawing 1

Technically, this was black gyso, but I don’t know how to spell that correctly (Geso? Gyso? Giso?) Which is why it says paint. Anyway, since I was drawing on a black surface, I decide that I should use my white to it’s fullest potential. After some thought, I decided on making a bubble themed character, since bubbles have lots of white highlights. I was really surprised how much the the bright colors popped on the black.

Mediums: Black Gyso/Geso/Giso, cresent board, and prismacolor pencils

Black paint drawing 2

In this drawing, I decided to play around with a different texture.

Daily sketch: Art Block

In this daily sketch, I decided to lose my ordinary fine liner and do a drawing in pencil. I also decided to use items in my vicinity to give the picture of the drawing some sort of environment (what I mean by this, is the drawing won’t work without the item in the picture), In this case, the back of a #2 pencil.

Mediums: #2 pencil
